Service information and terms
What you get, what it costs and what can go wrong. This is a plain description of how the service works today, not a full set of legal terms.
What it is
Amuse the Bots is a party game for 2 to 12 players. One shared screen shows the game and everyone answers on their own phone. AI models rank the answers and the players vote.
Guests play for free
Joining a room, playing in it and reconnecting cost nothing and need no account.
The host pays in credits
A match with AI judges is paid in credits by one signed-in person. Credits come in packs.
The price of a pack is on the account page before you buy, and Stripe's checkout shows the total with tax before you pay.
The lobby shows the price of the whole match in credits before you pay for it. It depends on the number of rounds, which judges you pick, roasts and AI-made prompts. If the settings change between seeing the price and paying, the payment is refused and you see the new price.
Play again starts a new match with its own price.
Credits are not money
Credits pay for matches in Amuse the Bots and nothing else. The service has no way to move them to another account or to pay them out as money.
They belong to the account that bought them. Signing in with a different account shows a different balance.
When credits come back
- A round where no AI judge returns a usable ranking, or with fewer than two answers, returns its credits.
- Ending a match early or closing the room returns the credits for rounds not played.
- Undo in the lobby returns the whole payment, as long as the match has not started and no AI prompts were made for it. If making them failed, undo is available again.
- If AI prompts could not be made, their fee returns. Once they exist, that fee stays spent.
A round where some judges answered and others failed costs the full price. A missing roast does not lower the price either.
Credits for a paid match stay reserved until the match is played, ended or its room closed. A room that goes unused for 24 hours in the lobby, on a scoreboard or on the final screen is closed automatically, and the credits for rounds not played return. A room left in the middle of a round keeps them reserved until someone closes it.
Buying credits
Stripe sells the credits through its Link service and is the seller on your receipt. Stripe handles the tax, the receipt and refund requests for the purchase.
When a purchase is refunded, the credits it bought are removed in proportion to the refunded amount, rounded up. If you already spent them, your balance can drop below zero, and you cannot pay for a match until it is positive again. A disputed charge removes the credits until the dispute is settled.
Link supportThe AI judges
The rankings, explanations and roasts are written by AI models. Nobody reviews them before you see them. They can be wrong, unfair, rude or offensive.
We do not promise that a match will be funny or that a judge will agree with the room.
A judge can be slow or fail. If none of them answers, only the players' votes count for that round and its credits return.
What you type
Everyone in the room sees your answers, and the AI judges receive them. Anyone with the room code or room ID can also retrieve names, answers and scores. Leave out private details about yourself and other people.
What we store and for how longWhen it does not work
The game depends on outside services for hosting, sign-in, payments and AI. Any of them can be down, and the game can be unavailable or change without notice.
Price changes
Pack prices and the credit price of judges and extras can change. A match you already paid for keeps the price you saw.
